Youth Onstage New Orleans, LA (YONOLA)

The YONOLA Afterschool Program is offered at no cost to families in our 7th ward community and is co-taught by two professional student artists. The program is structured to promote academic/interpersonal skill building and encourage artistic exploration.

Southern Rep Theatre identifies and trains Student Artist-Teachers, who receive ongoing professional development during their fellowship to ensure best practices for the program.
All YoNola participants receive an afterschool snack, homework help and a structured multidisciplinary arts lesson at our theatre space on Bayou Road.

Working with Southern Rep Theatre Artist-Teachers over a number of weeks, students experience lessons in music, poetry, visual art, dance, chorus, theatre – and much more! Arts lessons are often interdisciplinary, support learning across subjects and can be tailored to individual participants’ interests and goals.

YONOLA takes place every Monday and Wednesday, from 3:45 pm – 5:30 pm.

Upcoming YoNola session: October 5 – December 14, 2018.

Registration is on a rolling basis and can be found here or on site at 2541 Bayou Rd, NOLA 70119

Programming is free; there is a registration fee of $10 per student.
