A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you’ve got a major play that unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family.
Ambitious and acclaimed, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY originated at the renowned Steppenwolf Theatre and moved to Broadway for an 18-month smash hit run, garnering the 2008 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Christopher Isherwood (New York Times) proclaimed it “the most exciting new American play Broadway has seen in years.”

The 13-member tour-de-force ensemble features Ellen Barry (Violet), Ilyanette Bernabel (Johnna), Thomas Francis Murphy (Beverly), Lara Grice (Mattie Fae), Aimée Hayes (Barbara), Raina Houston (Jean), Robert Larriviere (Charlie), Jenny Mercein (Karen), John Neisler (Steve), Lance Nichols (Bill), Troy Poplous (Deon), Nick Thompson (Little Charles), and Mandy Zirkenbach (Ivy).
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award.

“You will leave the theater and may still find yourself hungry for more.”
– Charles Isherwood, New York Times
