Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film (in addition to a host of fun new songs), Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka KIDS follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.

ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS

We believe that every young person is an artist. Our Fall Theatre Workshops aim to encourage and cultivate the artistry, imagination, and creativity of New Orleans’ young artists. We will be offering workshops for youth aged 4-7 and 8-12.

These workshops have been tailored to be creative, exploratory, and process-based. Both workshops culminate in a performance for families, friends, and loved ones, but we want to make sure that we focus on the progress and experience of each child. As always, we accept all performers without an audition and each child will perform at the end of the workshop. These workshops are about discovering how to use our bodies, voices, and imaginations to create theatre and how to work together. And of course, these workshops are all about fun!
