Ushering
As a nonprofit, Southern Rep utilizes an all-volunteer usher and concessions staff. We’re always looking for fun, articulate people to be part of the Southern Rep production team. We’ve got great people whom we love and that the audience loves to see too, but they’re not always available. Won’t you join us?
- FREE TICKETS . All ushers and concessions volunteers receive free tickets to see the show at which they work.
- TIPS FOR CONCESSIONS . Concessions staff are allowed to keep all tips they earn.
- INVITATIONS . If of age, you’ll always be invited to SRT’s SCHMIGGLE after-show bashes.
- CONCESSION VOLUNTEERS . Concessions staff must be at least 21 and be up for gladly speaking with serving audience members. You’ll be helping to set up and then taking donations for candy, soda, coffee, beer and wine at the concessions area.
- USHER VOLUNTEERS . Ushers must be at least 16 years old and feel able to happily interact with patrons. You’ll be handing out programs, explaining seating assignments, showing patrons where the restrooms are located and generally making them comfortable. You report to the Theatre Manager who is responsible for any larger issues or questions from audience members.
- PARTICULARS . Volunteers are asked to wear all black and to report to the theater no later than one hour before the start of the performance.
