There is an old saying that when it comes to love, you don't count the cost. But clearly, in an era when it takes upward of $200,000 to raise a child to age 18, it's high time to send the kids a bill. Betsy Howie realized this long before her daughter's birth. So while most people just groan about the small fortune they spend on their bundles of joy, Betsy decided to keep exact track. Over the course of 15 months - from late in her pregnancy to Callie's first birthday - Howie counts every penny she spends in the world premiere of this hilarious show adapted from her best-selling book by the same name.
Callie's Tally was scheduled to open our 2005-06 season, but was cancelled because of Hurricane Katrina. It was read as a benefit for us at more than 10 theaters throughout the country this year.
