Play Your Part . Become a Southern Rep Donor

Programs supported with your gift include:
Season of Premieres
Each season, Southern Rep introduces New Orleans audiences to new plays by modern American playwrights. Recent past seasons have featured premieres from Louisiana playwrights John Biguenet, Anne Galjour, Jim Fitzmorris and Barret O’Brien. We commissioned new plays, as well, through our membership in the National New Play Network. You’ve also experienced regional premieres by the hottest playwrights around, including Rebecca Gilman, David Lindsay-Abaire, Dael Orlandersmith, and Lynn Nottage plus you’ve seen plays by seasoned, award-winning writers such as Edward Albee, David Sedaris, and Christopher Durang on our stage. If it’s new and intriguing, it’s at Southern Rep.
City Series
During our City Series, we rent our theater to other local theater companies so that they can produce their own shows. Donations to the City Series allows us to lower the amount we charge local companies for rent.
SRT Free Student Matinee Program
Southern Rep offers high school students in the greater New Orleans area to see our productions for free at weekly Wednesday matinees. We work with teachers by sending them copies of the script and study guides in advance of the production. After the show, students have the chance to meet and ask questions of the cast and artistic staff.
Academy SRT Tuition Scholarships
Southern Rep offers theatre classes for children and adults throughout the year. These classes are taught by professional teaching artists and can range from mask-making or theatre games for young kids to Suzuki training for the professional actor. Our offerings change each semester as we see where the needs of the community beckon. We’ve recently instituted scholarships to assist those students who cannot afford these classes but could so benefit from participating.
