 11 Year Old Musician Deuce Brown Makes His Bayou Road Debut!

The young multi-instrumentalist Deuce Brown will perform with a small version of his band on Southern Rep’s Sanctuary Stage on March 13, 2020, at 6:15 PM. There will be beverages provided by the Sanctuary’s bar at Happy Hour Special prices. Parking is available both on the premises and on the street. Doors open and Happy Hour begins at 5 PM. Deuce performs at 6:15 PM-7:15 PM. An afterparty begins at 7:30 PM down the street at Half Shell On The Bayou. This kid-friendly event is open to the public and free to attend.

Deuce Brown is the son of local culture bearers, award-winning trumpeter Kid Chocolate and Chef P. Pierre Brown, the owner and head chef of Gourmet Sacred Soul Kitchen Therapy & Catering. At his young age, Deuce has already shared stages with local legends such as Davell Crawford, Shannon Powell, Khris Royal, Glen David Andrews, Trombone Shorty and more. He’s also played alongside late greats Dr. John and Lucien Barbarin. It’s not uncommon to see him performing with Derrick Freeman’s Soul Brass Band, and he’s a regular hitman with Ashlin Parker’s Trumpet Mafia. Of course, he’s often an added bonus with his father Kid Chocolate. September 2019 was Deuce Brown’s debut as a touring musician with an appearance at the Detroit Jazz Festival and performances at venues in South Carolina and New Jersey. In addition to the musical education received from his dad and friends of his dad, Deuce is also studying music at The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s, Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music with aspirations to attend New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) in the near future.
