Queer Identities:
A Wellness Group for LGBTQ+
May 19 – June 23, 2019
Sundays @ 7pm-8:30pm
(six-week series)
With music, vocal exploration, movement, and storytelling we explore and express LGBTQ+ identities as they relate to relationships, gender, sexuality, and family history. This group supports an overall sense of community and wellbeing, development of a positive sense of self, healthy coping strategies, and insight into relational patterns. Guided by Ida Ansell and Kei Slaughter.
Ida Ansell: Ida is practicing as a Counseling Intern at Jewish Family Service where she treats a wide range of clients with a variety of issues. She plans to receive her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2019 from Loyola University and aspires to specialize in LGBTQ+ and identity issues from a psychodynamic, relational-cultural, and systemic perspective.
Kei Slaughter: Kei [pronouns: they/them] is a gender non-conforming queer black artist, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and board-certified music therapist with deep New Orleans roots. They hold advanced clinical training in vocal psychotherapy and specialize in serving LGBTQ+POC and youth of color communities through their healing justice practice S O U L F O L K Sounds.
